About

Dr. Jose L. Lopez Rivera, MD is a board-certified family medicine physician and the founder of FloridaMD Clinic in Altamonte Springs. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Puerto Rico and his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Wyoming. He serves as Vice Chief of Medical Staff and is on the medical staff at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, AdventHealth Orlando, Halifax Medical Center in Daytona, and Halifax–UF Health in Deltona, and is a clinical instructor for the University of Florida. His practice focuses on disease prevention and the long-term management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, with an emphasis on open communication, evidence-based practice, and patient education.
